Environmental Impact with Conquest Challenges
We have partnered with Ecologi to plant trees or help avoid carbon being pumped into the atmosphere on your behalf as you complete milestones along your challenges - you have the choice of which type of environmental project you want to contribute to in your challenge settings.
Tree Planting
A tree will be planted in one of their tree restoration projects every time a challenger reaches a 25% milestone along one of our virtual challenges, planting a minimum of 4 trees each time a challenge is completed.
They work with tree planting projects across the world, to bring you a variety of locations to support, with various co-benefits such as poverty alleviation, biodiversity and community support.
Each tree planted will sequester an estimated 0.30 tonnes of carbon (the equivalent to 732.90 miles in a standard car) over its growth life. But that’s far from its only benefit:
- Nourishing our planet - trees clean the air, filter water, regulate rainfall, improve soil quality, offer shelter and reduce flooding.
- Reducing extreme poverty - trees provide work, improve crop yield, generate income sources and help the local economy.
- Supporting biodiveristy - trees support different species of animals, invertebrates, plants, fungi, lichens and mosses.
- Reversing deforestation - trees help healthy forests re-emerge, restoring animal habitats, purifying water sources, replenishing soil, controlling flooding and improving weather patterns.
Carbon Avoidance Projects
20kg (0.02 tonnes) of carbon avoidance will be funded in one of their projects every time a challenger reaches a 25% milestone along one of our virtual challenges, helping to stop at least 80kg (0.08 tonnes) of carbon entering the atmosphere each time a challenge is completed.
